The 3M 7100045903 is a coated abrasive disc roll featuring 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain technology, sold in roll format for high-volume grinding and stock removal operations. The triangular-profile ceramic mineral is engineered to slice through material rather than plow across the surface, which translates to faster cut rates and extended disc life compared to conventional aluminum oxide or zirconia abrasives. Each disc measures 5 inches in diameter and carries an 80-grit rating, positioning it for aggressive stock removal on metal and similar substrates. The Stikita pressure-sensitive adhesive backing allows fast disc changes without handling individual liners. Licensed trade professionals and fabrication shops are the primary end users.
This disc roll is suited for flat and orbital random-orbit disc grinders used in metal fabrication, weld blending, and surface prep applications where rapid material removal is the priority. The roll format is designed for production environments where disc changeover frequency is high and minimizing downtime matters. The 80-grit cut is appropriate for initial stock removal, deburring, and surface conditioning before finishing steps. The Stikita backing is compatible with Stikita-style backup pads commonly used in professional metalworking setups.
Designed for use with Stikita-style backup pads on 5-inch disc grinders used in metal fabrication and surface preparation applications.
Mount to a compatible 5-inch Stikita backup pad by pressing the adhesive side firmly and evenly onto the pad surface before use. Ensure the grinder is powered off and unplugged before changing discs. Inspect the backup pad for wear or damage prior to mounting a new disc. Follow applicable shop safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves during operation.
