The 3M 7100044691 is a coated abrasive disc from the Cubitron II Hookit line, designed for high-speed stock removal on metal, wood, and composite surfaces. It uses 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology, which features a triangular ceramic mineral that slices through material rather than grinding it down. This geometry allows the disc to cut up to two times faster and last up to four times longer than conventional abrasive discs. At 6 inches in diameter and 120 grit, it is suited for intermediate stock removal and surface prep work. Installation is handled by a hook-and-loop backing system for fast disc changes. Licensed HVAC technicians, fabricators, metalworkers, and general tradespeople use this disc in production and service environments.
This disc is primarily used for stock removal applications across a wide range of substrates, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, painted surfaces, and wood composites. The 120 grit rating makes it a practical choice for blending, deburring, and surface conditioning before finish work. The hook-and-loop attachment is compatible with standard 6-inch backup pads used in trade and light industrial settings. It is sold as individual units and packaged with a minimum order quantity of 250.
Designed for use with standard 6-inch hook-and-loop backup pads on right-angle grinders and random orbital sanders used in metal fabrication, woodworking, and general surface preparation.
Attach the disc to a compatible 6-inch hook-and-loop backup pad before powering the tool. Ensure the grinder or sander is rated for the disc diameter before use. Inspect the disc for damage before each application and do not use a disc that shows tears, gouges, or separation of the abrasive layer. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating grinding equipment.
