The 3M 7100043949 is a double coated PET tape designed for high-demand bonding applications in industrial, HVAC, and construction environments. Mounted on a 74-pound release liner, the tape delivers high tack adhesion on both sides of a polyester (PET) film carrier. The moisture-stable liner protects the adhesive from heat and humidity until the tape is applied, allowing it to wet out properly against the substrate. Measuring 5/8 inches wide and 60 yards long per roll, it is suited for situations where a clean, permanent bond is required across a wide range of surfaces and conditions.
This tape is used in applications that involve difficult-to-bond substrates, including high surface energy plastics, composite materials, cloth, and insulation facings. It is well suited for HVAC duct liner attachment, panel lamination, insulation facing bonds, and general industrial assembly where UV exposure or temperature cycling could degrade lesser adhesives. Installers in mechanical, industrial, and construction trades reach for this product when standard acrylic or rubber-based tapes fail to hold on challenging surfaces.
Designed for bonding to high surface energy plastics, composite panels, cloth, and insulation facings in industrial and construction assemblies.
Clean and dry all bonding surfaces before application to remove oils, dust, and moisture that reduce adhesive contact. Apply firm, even pressure across the full tape width after positioning to promote full wet-out against the substrate. In cold environments, allow substrates to reach room temperature before application, as low surface temperatures can slow adhesive tack development. This tape is intended for permanent bonds; test on a small area when working with unfamiliar substrates.
