The 3M 7100043775 is a double coated PET tape designed for high-performance bonding in demanding industrial and trade applications. Mounted on a 74 lb. release liner, it delivers high tack adhesion to a wide range of substrates, including high surface energy plastics, composite materials, cloth, and insulation facings. The tape provides strong, permanent bonds and is engineered to resist UV exposure and temperature extremes. Licensed installers and technicians working with HVAC insulation facings, panel assemblies, or composite construction will find this tape well suited for production and field bonding tasks.
This tape is used across commercial and industrial applications where conventional adhesives or mechanical fasteners are impractical. It performs reliably on difficult-to-bond surfaces and maintains adhesion across a range of environmental conditions including humidity and heat. The moisture-stable 74 lb. release liner protects the adhesive before application, allowing the tape to wet-out properly during bonding. Typical applications include laminating, mounting, and splicing operations in HVAC panel fabrication, insulation assembly, and light industrial manufacturing.
Designed as a double coated PET bonding tape for use on high surface energy substrates, composites, cloth, and insulation facings in industrial and trade assembly applications.
Surface preparation is critical before application — clean and dry the substrate to remove dust, oil, and contaminants. Apply firm, even pressure across the full tape width to ensure full contact and proper wet-out. Remove the release liner carefully to avoid stretching the tape or contaminating the adhesive. Once bonded to most substrates, removal may damage the surface or the tape itself.
