The 3M 7100043715 is the Venture Line Set Tape 1507, a 3.0 mil biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) tape engineered for wrapping refrigerant line sets in HVAC installations. It uses a cold weather solvent acrylic adhesive with mold-inhibiting properties, allowing it to bond reliably across a service temperature range of -40 degrees F to 185 degrees F. The tape is linerless and self-wound, which speeds application in the field. Its UL 723 classification carries a 0/0 Flame/Smoke rating, making it appropriate for code-conscious installs. Licensed HVAC technicians and refrigeration mechanics are the primary installers.
This tape is designed for outdoor and mechanical room line set applications where exposure to moisture, UV radiation, and wide temperature swings is expected. The conformable BOPP backing performs well on the curved and irregular surfaces typical of refrigerant suction and liquid lines, including elbows and fittings. It is suited for both residential split systems and light commercial equipment where line sets require protective wrapping. No primer or special tools are needed for installation, which keeps jobsite workflow efficient.
Designed as a general-purpose line set wrapping tape for HVAC refrigerant lines, suitable for use on suction and liquid lines in residential and light commercial split-system applications where weatherproof and UV-resistant tape is required.
Line set tape is typically applied by licensed HVAC technicians or refrigeration mechanics after refrigerant lines are brazed, tested, and insulated. Ensure line set insulation is clean, dry, and free of oil or debris before applying tape for best adhesion. Begin wrapping at one end with consistent overlap and tension, paying extra attention to elbows and fittings where the conformable backing is most needed. Follow all applicable local mechanical codes and manufacturer guidelines for line set protection and penetration sealing.
