The 3M 7100039850 is a Trizact 307EA abrasive belt built for intermediate finishing and fine polishing applications. It uses 3M microreplication technology in which micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into uniform three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to a flexible rayon cloth backing. As the abrasive surface wears during use, fresh mineral is continuously exposed from within the pyramid structure, delivering a consistent cut rate and a predictable finish throughout the belt's service life. At 132 inches long and 1 inch wide, this belt is sized for stationary belt grinders and automated finishing equipment used in metal fabrication and surface prep.
This belt is designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing steps prior to plating or buffing on metal workpieces. The flexible rayon cloth backing conforms to contoured and irregular surfaces, making it suitable for both flat stock and shaped components. Its self-renewing pyramid structure makes it particularly well-suited to robotic and automated finishing lines where finish consistency across high part volumes is required. Fabricators, tool and die shops, and precision metalworking operations are the typical end users.
Designed for use on stationary belt grinders and automated finishing equipment that accept a 132-inch by 1-inch abrasive belt. Suitable for metal finishing applications requiring consistent intermediate or fine-polish results.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Power down and lockout the grinder or finishing machine before changing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the equipment manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or delamination before each use and do not exceed the equipment's rated surface speed.
