The 3M 7100039260 is an instant adhesive primer formulated for low surface energy substrates that are notoriously difficult to bond. Sold as a clear, 2 fl oz solution, AC77 works by preparing the surface chemistry of plastics like polypropylene, polyethylene, and PTFE so that cyanoacrylate-based instant adhesives achieve a reliable, durable bond. The primer is applied to each substrate before adhesive application. It is a standard tool in assembly, maintenance, and repair workflows where conventional adhesives fail on low surface energy materials. Weighing 0.15 pounds, this single-use-sized bottle suits field technicians and shop technicians alike.
AC77 is used in industrial, commercial, and trade service environments wherever polypropylene, polyethylene, PTFE, or similar low surface energy plastics require bonding. Typical applications include plastic fixture repair, component assembly, and maintenance tasks on equipment housings, pipe fittings, or fluid-handling components made from these materials. It is applied before the instant adhesive to both mating surfaces prior to joining.
Designed for use as a surface preparation primer on low surface energy plastics such as polypropylene, polyethylene, and PTFE prior to bonding with cyanoacrylate instant adhesives.
Apply AC77 primer to each substrate surface and allow it to flash off before applying the instant adhesive. Work in a well-ventilated area, as primer and adhesive vapors can be irritating. Follow all applicable safety data sheet guidance for handling and storage. Do not apply adhesive before the primer has fully flashed, as premature application can compromise bond quality.
