The 3M 7100039197 is a red, low-viscosity anaerobic threadlocker formulated for high-torque removal applications. Sold under the Scotch-Weld line, TL71 wicks into pre-assembled fasteners and cures to lock threaded hardware against vibration, shock, and corrosion. Each bottle contains 10 mL of liquid compound. When disassembly is required, localized heat softens the cured adhesive so fasteners can be removed without damaging threads. This product is used by HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and mechanical contractors who need a reliable thread-locking solution on high-load fastener assemblies.
TL71 threadlocker is suited for threaded fasteners in mechanical, HVAC, and industrial equipment where vibration and shock loading are common concerns. The low-viscosity formula allows it to penetrate tight thread gaps, making it practical for both new assemblies and pre-assembled hardware. It is appropriate for use on steel, iron, and other metal fastener materials found in commercial and residential mechanical systems.
Designed for use on metal threaded fasteners in mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment assemblies where vibration resistance and corrosion protection are required.
Application is performed by licensed or journeyman tradespeople following standard fastener assembly procedures. Clean and degrease threads before applying threadlocker to ensure proper adhesion. Allow adequate cure time before placing the assembly under load. For disassembly, apply localized heat to the fastener joint before attempting removal to avoid thread damage.
