The 3M 7100033084 is a coated abrasive belt from the Cubitron II 947A series, built with 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology. This grain geometry slices through metal surfaces rather than gouging or plowing, which translates to faster material removal, lower cutting temperatures, and a longer service life compared to conventional ceramic abrasive belts. The X-weight poly-cotton backing delivers the flexibility needed for contour work and general metal grinding. At 40 grit, this belt is suited for aggressive stock removal on stainless steel, mild steels, and aluminum at low to medium pressure.
This belt is designed for metalworking and fabrication applications where heat management and cut rate are critical. The 18 inch length and 3/4 inch width fit a range of portable and bench-mounted belt grinders used in metal fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial service environments. It performs well on stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum, making it a practical choice for deburring, weld blending, and surface preparation work. A built-in grinding aid reduces friction and further controls heat buildup during use.
Designed for use on belt grinders and finishing machines accepting an 18 inch by 3/4 inch abrasive belt. Suitable for metalworking applications on stainless steel, mild steels, and aluminum.
Belt installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified operator following the machine manufacturer's guidelines. Ensure the grinder or finishing tool is fully powered down and unplugged before changing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension per the equipment manufacturer's specification before resuming operation. Always wear appropriate PPE, including eye protection and gloves, when handling abrasive belts and operating grinding equipment.
