The 3M 7100032503 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt designed for detail work on metal surfaces. Built with an aluminum oxide (AO) grain bonded with resin onto a scrim-reinforced nonwoven open web backing, this belt handles blending, deburring, cleaning, contour finishing, flat finishing, and stainless steel brushed-finish work. It measures 24 inches in length and 3 inches in width. The open web construction reduces loading and heat build-up, allowing longer run times and consistent results across a range of metal finishing operations. HVAC fabricators, metalworkers, and maintenance technicians are the primary users.
This belt is suited for both manual and robotic processing applications where conformability to complex part shapes is required. Typical uses include setting the grain on stainless steel panels, removing grind lines and mill marks, deburring cut edges, and achieving straight-line brushed finishes on flat or contoured metal workpieces. It performs on a variety of metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum in light industrial and shop environments.
Designed for use on belt finishing machines accepting 3 inch by 24 inch abrasive belts. Suitable for use on stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other metals requiring surface conditioning.
Installation and belt changes should be performed by a qualified operator with the machine fully powered down and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tension and tracking before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or damage prior to each use and do not exceed the maximum operating speed rated for the machine and belt combination.
