The 3M 7100030739 is a Scotch-Brite EXL unitized abrasive wheel designed for smoothing, deburring, and finishing operations on metal alloys, plastics, and composites. Built with fine-grade silicon carbide abrasive, the wheel delivers consistent surface conditioning across a range of materials. Its soft, conformable construction allows the wheel face to follow contours and edges rather than cutting aggressively into the workpiece. The wheel measures 8 inches in overall diameter with a 1 inch width and accepts a 1/2 inch arbor hole, making it compatible with standard bench grinders and right-angle tools used in fabrication and finishing work.
This unitized wheel is suited for metal fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial finishing operations where controlled deburring and edge blending are required. It performs well on ferrous and non-ferrous metal alloys as well as select plastics and composite materials. Fine-grade silicon carbide construction makes it appropriate for final-stage finishing passes where surface quality matters and aggressive stock removal is not the goal. Machinists, fabricators, and tool-and-die technicians are the primary installers and users of this type of abrasive product.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use unitized abrasive wheel for bench grinders and rotary finishing tools accepting a 1/2 inch arbor and accommodating up to 8 inch diameter wheels.
Mounting and operation of abrasive wheels should be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the maximum rated RPM marked on the wheel before mounting. Inspect the wheel for visible damage before each use and never operate a cracked or compromised wheel. Always use appropriate guarding and personal protective equipment including eye protection when operating grinding or finishing equipment.
