The 3M 7100026607 is a coated abrasive belt from the Cubitron II 984F series, built for medium to high pressure grinding on demanding metals. It uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain on a YF-weight polyester cloth backing, a combination engineered to cut faster and last longer than conventional abrasive belts. The Precision-Shaped Grain continuously fractures into sharp cutting points, maintaining aggressive stock removal throughout the belt's life. A built-in grinding aid keeps the belt running cooler, which reduces metal discoloration, oxidation, and the risk of heat-related stress cracks in sensitive workpieces. This belt measures 132 inches in length and 5 inches in width and carries a 36 grit designation for medium-to-heavy material removal.
This belt is suited for fabrication and finishing operations on stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys. It performs in robotic grinding setups and pressure-assisted systems where belt life and consistent cut rate directly affect throughput. Weld grinding, pipe finishing, and heavy deburring are common applications. The longer belt life reduces changeouts and downtime in production environments where uptime is critical.
