The 3M 7100025897 is a modified polychloroprene heat shrink tubing designed for applications that demand a tough, highly flexible protective covering. Known in the field as NST tubing, this product provides superior cut-through and abrasion resistance while remaining unaffected by common fluids and solvents. Oil resistance is excellent. The tubing maintains flexibility at low temperatures and accepts hot-stamp and print-wheel marking methods. When exposed to temperatures above 135 degrees C (275 degrees F), the tubing rapidly shrinks to a skintight fit. It is rated for continuous operation from -70 degrees C (-94 degrees F) to 121 degrees C (250 degrees F). Electricians and field technicians working with wire harnesses, cable bundles, and exposed conductors rely on this tubing for durable insulation and mechanical protection.
This tubing is suited for electrical and industrial applications where wiring or cables are exposed to abrasion, fluid contact, or wide temperature swings. It is commonly installed in automotive, marine, HVAC control wiring, and industrial equipment environments. The 3/4-inch nominal diameter and 100-foot spool length make it practical for production runs and field service applications. It is sold in a unit of measure of feet with a minimum order quantity of 300 feet, making it best suited for professional contractors and service shops stocking tubing for ongoing work.
Designed as an OEM-style protective sleeving solution for wire bundles, cable harnesses, and conductors requiring flexible, fluid-resistant heat shrink coverage in electrical and industrial installations.
Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians or trained technicians. De-energize all circuits before applying tubing to any conductor or wiring assembly. Use a calibrated heat gun rather than an open flame to apply even heat and achieve a consistent shrink profile. Follow applicable NEC guidelines for conductor insulation and protection requirements when using heat shrink tubing in electrical panels or raceways.
