The 3M 7100025511 is a high performance masking tape engineered for applications where heat exposure is a primary concern. Based on the Scotch 213 platform, this tape uses a highly cured synthetic rubber adhesive bonded to a specially treated crepe paper backing. It is rated for continuous exposure up to 350 degrees F for 30 minutes, making it suitable for powder coating, spray painting, and other industrial masking processes. The crepe paper construction resists slivering and tears cleanly by hand, which speeds up application on the job. HVAC fabricators, sheet metal contractors, and industrial painters are the primary installers of this product.
This tape is designed for masking and holding tasks in environments where temperature, solvents, or moisture would degrade standard masking tapes. It performs consistently on challenging surfaces including anodized and treated metals, where clean removal without adhesive residue is critical. The controlled unwind design reduces flagging during high-volume application runs. Each roll measures 1.5 inches wide and 60 yards long, supplied in a tan crepe finish.
Designed as a general-purpose high-temperature masking tape for use on metal, painted, and treated surfaces in industrial and trade applications where standard masking tapes are insufficient.
Surface must be clean, dry, and free of oils or loose material before tape application. Apply firm hand pressure along the full length of the tape edge to ensure a complete seal prior to any spray or heat process. After the heat cycle, allow the surface to cool to a safe handling temperature before removal to reduce the risk of surface damage. Remove tape at a low angle and at a steady, controlled pace to maintain clean adhesive pull-off.
