The 3M 7100024621 is a unitized non-woven abrasive wheel designed for deburring, edge finishing, and surface conditioning on metal workpieces. Built on an aluminum oxide (AO) mineral construction, this wheel delivers aggressive material removal combined with consistent finishing action across its full service life. At 4 inches in diameter, it mounts to standard tooling via a unitized wheel mandrel (sold separately) and is rated for both clockwise and counterclockwise rotation. It belongs to the 900 Series line, which represents the highest density and most aggressive tier in the Standard Abrasives unitized wheel family.
This wheel is suited for deburring and finishing ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including aluminum, steel, and harder alloys. The extra-hard density construction targets heavy-duty edge deburring and polishing tasks where softer wheels wear too quickly. It is appropriate for use in fabrication shops, machine shops, and metal finishing operations where consistent edge quality on hard metals is required. The 4-inch diameter fits bench-mounted tools, angle grinders with the appropriate mandrel, and stationary finishing equipment.
Designed for use with standard unitized wheel mandrels compatible with 4-inch diameter center-hole abrasive wheels. Suitable for angle grinders, die grinders, and bench-mounted spindle tools configured for unitized wheel accessories.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive wheel safety practices. Confirm the tool spindle speed rating meets or exceeds the maximum RPM marked on the wheel before mounting. Power down and disconnect the tool from its energy source before attaching or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for damage prior to each use and do not use on materials or applications outside the wheel's rated specifications.
