The 3M 7100024620 is a unitized abrasive wheel built for heavy-duty edge deburring and surface polishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including stainless steel and aluminum. Part of the Standard Abrasives 800 Series, this wheel uses aluminum oxide mineral bonded into a hard-density, open-web construction. The result is a wheel that holds its edge longer than softer-density alternatives, resists loading, and delivers consistent cut and finish throughout its service life. It mounts to a 1/4-inch arbor via a unitized wheel mandrel and measures 4 inches in diameter. HVAC fabricators, sheet metal workers, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary users of this type of tooling.
This wheel is suited for edge deburring, blending, and light polishing on metal workpieces in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and HVAC ducting operations. The 800 Series hard-density construction performs well on stainless steel polishing and heavy-edge finishing where softer wheels break down too quickly. The aluminum oxide mineral is appropriate for both ferrous metals such as mild steel and stainless, and non-ferrous metals such as aluminum. The open web design resists clogging during extended use, making it effective for continuous production runs or field service work.
Designed for use with standard angle grinders and rotary tools fitted with a unitized wheel mandrel accepting a 1/4-inch arbor. Compatible with equipment operating in both clockwise and counterclockwise rotation. Mandrel is sold separately.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel following the tool manufacturer's speed and mounting guidelines. Ensure the tool is powered down and unplugged before mounting or removing the wheel. Always verify the spindle speed rating of the tool does not exceed the wheel's maximum RPM rating prior to use. Eye protection, gloves, and appropriate respiratory protection are standard requirements when operating abrasive wheels.
