The 3M 7100023768 is a convolute deburring and finishing wheel from the Scotch-Brite EXL-XP line, engineered for high-cut-rate material removal on metals, composites, and glass. The convolute construction integrates abrasive mineral throughout the wheel, exposing fresh cutting surfaces as the wheel wears. This design minimizes heat buildup, making it suitable for heat-sensitive workpieces. At 10.4 inches in diameter and 2.6 inches wide, the wheel is sized for bench-mounted or pedestal grinder setups. Machinists, fabricators, and metalfinishing professionals use it for deburring, edge blending, and light polishing in production environments.
This wheel is intended for demanding deburring, polishing, and surface finishing tasks across a broad range of substrates including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, composites, and glass. It performs consistently across the full service life of the wheel rather than cutting aggressively only when new. The exposed mineral structure reduces smearing, which lowers time spent cleaning or prepping surfaces between operations. It is well suited to production shops and job-site fabrication where consistent finish quality and throughput matter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use convolute deburring wheel for bench grinders and pedestal grinders accepting 10-inch diameter convolute wheels. Compatible with ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, composites, and glass substrates.
Mounting of abrasive wheels should be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Verify that the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the maximum rated RPM marked on the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never force a wheel onto a spindle.
