The 3M 7100023156 is a clear Dual Lock reclosable fastener system that uses interlocking mushroom-shaped stems to create a strong, reusable mechanical bond without tools or hardware. It ships as a matched pair of two tape profiles: TB3561 at 400 stems per square inch and TB3562 at 170 stems per square inch. Each roll is 1 inch wide and 10 feet long. The clear polypropylene fastener strip is backed with a clear acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive, giving an engaged thickness of 0.23 inches. The system is rated for 1,000 closure cycles and handles temperatures up to 220 degrees F, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments. HVAC, electrical, and general trade installers use it anywhere a tool-free, repositionable mechanical attachment is required.
This fastener system is designed for mounting, bundling, or panel attachment applications on compatible hard surfaces. The acrylic adhesive backing bonds to metals including aluminum and stainless steel, glass, and high surface energy plastics such as acrylic, polycarbonate, and ABS. It performs in interior environments and in outdoor installations where UV exposure and temperature swings are factors. Trade professionals use it to secure access panels, route cable bundles, mount lightweight enclosures, or attach labels and placards in HVAC, electrical, and light construction applications.
Designed for use with metals (aluminum, stainless steel), glass, and high surface energy plastics including acrylic, polycarbonate, and ABS. Not recommended for low surface energy plastics such as polyethylene or polypropylene substrates.
Surface preparation is critical — clean and degrease the mounting surface before applying the adhesive backing. Apply firm pressure along the full length of the strip after placement to ensure full adhesive contact. Allow adequate dwell time before loading the joint. No power shutoff is required for installation, but follow applicable NEC or building code requirements if routing near electrical components.
