The 3M 7100016838 is the Scotch ATG Repositionable Double Coated Tissue Tape 928, a differential adhesive tape built for applications that require two distinct bonding behaviors from a single piece of tape. One side delivers a permanent bond on contact to paper stocks and lightweight materials. The opposite side uses a low-tack, repositionable adhesive that allows clean removal and repositioning without tearing or damaging the substrate. The tape uses a white tissue carrier laminated to a polycoated kraft paper liner and is reverse wound on a 1-inch core for use with a Scotch ATG Applicator.
This tape is suited for graphic arts, print finishing, light assembly, and paper-based fabrication work where a two-stage bonding process is needed. The face-side adhesive creates a lasting bond to paper stocks and similar lightweight surfaces, while the exposed secondary side remains removable. The formulation is designed to resist bleed-through into most paper stocks, reducing the risk of discoloration or staining on finished work. It is typically handled by print and finishing technicians, sign fabricators, and light industrial assemblers.
Designed for use with the Scotch ATG Applicator system. Intended for bonding paper stocks and other lightweight materials in applications requiring differential adhesion.
Load the roll into a compatible Scotch ATG Applicator per the applicator manufacturer's instructions, observing the reverse-wound orientation. Ensure the substrate surface is clean and dry before application to achieve rated adhesion on the permanent side. When repositioning, lift carefully and avoid repeated repositioning cycles, which can reduce the low-tack adhesive's effectiveness over time. This product is not intended for structural, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical applications.
