The 3M 7100014137 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Film Backed Belt is a non-woven abrasive belt engineered for cleaning, finishing, blending, and deburring across a wide range of surfaces. Built on a smooth, stretch-resistant nylon film backing, this belt maintains close, consistent cutting action throughout its service life. The aluminum oxide mineral is bonded with resin and carried in an open, non-woven nylon fiber matrix that allows debris to escape, reducing loading and extending belt life. At 75 inches long and 25 inches wide, it is sized for large-format stroke sanders and wide-belt machines common in fabrication and finishing shops.
This belt is suited for industrial and commercial finishing applications where consistent surface conditioning results are required. The film backing performs well on stroke sanders and platens where reduced backside friction is a priority. Typical uses include weld blending, scale removal, surface prep before coating, and light deburring on metal, wood composite, and similar substrates. The gradual fiber breakdown continually exposes fresh mineral, delivering repeatable finishes across the full belt life.
Designed for use on large-format stroke sanders, wide-belt machines, and platen-style finishing equipment that accept 75-inch by 25-inch abrasive belts.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with wide-belt and stroke sander equipment. Power down and lock out the machine before changing belts. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the equipment manufacturer specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or mineral loss prior to each use.
