The 3M 7100010665 is a 5-inch hook and loop abrasive disc engineered for fine sanding and finishing work on a variety of substrates. Built on the 236U series platform, it uses aluminum oxide abrasive grain bonded to a C-weight paper backing, delivering a balance of flexibility and cutting consistency at 320 grit. The gold-colored disc attaches and releases quickly via hook and loop interface, reducing disc change time during production runs. This disc is well suited for finishing passes on wood, painted surfaces, and composites where controlled material removal and surface prep are the priority.
This disc is used in light industrial, woodworking, cabinet, and general surface preparation applications. At 320 grit, it is appropriate for final sanding stages before finishing coats, between-coat scuffing, and surface refinement on flat or contoured workpieces. The flexible paper backing allows the disc to conform to slightly irregular surfaces. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 250 units, making it a standard production consumable for shops and contractors running high-volume finishing operations.
Designed for use with 5-inch hook and loop random orbital and orbital sanding tools that accept non-vacuum-hole abrasive discs.
Installation is performed by pressing the disc firmly onto the hook and loop pad of a compatible sander. Ensure the backing pad is free of debris before attachment to maintain a secure bond. Disconnect the sander from its power source or remove the battery before changing discs. Discard discs that show signs of loading, tearing, or worn abrasive to maintain consistent finish quality.
