The 3M 7100007616 is a thin loop fastener strip designed for light-duty, limited-cycle attachment applications. Sold as a 1-inch-wide, 50-yard roll, the SJ3507 loop component features thousands of soft, pliable loops with an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive backing for clean, tool-free bonding to smooth surfaces. At 0.014 inches thick, it delivers a profile approximately 75% lower than standard hook-and-loop fasteners, making it well suited for assemblies where minimal stack height matters. Licensed HVAC technicians, electricians, and general trade contractors use this tape for panel labeling, wire management, light component mounting, and other applications requiring a clean, low-profile closure.
This fastener loop strip is intended for applications that call for a limited number of open-and-close cycles rather than heavy repeated use. Typical install scenarios include securing access panels, bundling lightweight cables, attaching instructional overlays, or temporarily fixing components during assembly. The acrylic adhesive bonds to a range of clean, dry substrates, including metal, plastic, and painted surfaces commonly found in HVAC cabinets, electrical enclosures, and light commercial equipment.
Designed as a loop-side component intended for use with compatible thin hook fastener strips. Verify that the mating hook component is rated for thin intermeshing construction to achieve proper engagement.
Clean and dry the bonding surface thoroughly before applying the adhesive backing; oils, dust, or moisture will reduce adhesion. Firm pressure applied across the full length of the strip improves initial bond strength. This product requires no special tools for installation. For applications inside energized electrical or HVAC enclosures, power down the equipment and follow applicable NEC or equipment manufacturer lockout procedures before beginning work.
