The 3M 7100000262 is a large, uncorded disposable foam earplug sold in box quantity for industrial hearing protection programs. Known as the E-A-R Classica Plus, this earplug is slightly longer than the standard E-A-R Classica design, allowing it to seat deeper in the ear canal and deliver a Noise Reduction Rating of 33 dB. The slow-recovery, low-pressure foam conforms to the ear canal shape, creating a reliable noise barrier with minimal pressure discomfort. Both flame resistant and moisture resistant, this earplug is well suited for demanding industrial environments where consistent expansion time and arc flash awareness matter.
This earplug is used across a broad range of industrial and commercial settings, including agriculture, automotive, chemicals, construction, general manufacturing, healthcare, oil and gas, and pharmaceuticals. Recommended applications include chipping, chiseling, drilling, furnace operations, grinding, heavy equipment operation, machining, pouring and casting, power fastening, riveting, sanding, sawing, and welding. The bright yellow color allows supervisors to conduct a quick visual compliance check during walkthroughs. Each earplug is individually packaged in a reusable pillow pack to keep it clean between uses. The product is also test compatible with the 3M E-A-Rfit Validation System, supporting documented fit-testing programs.
Compatible with the 3M E-A-Rfit Validation System. Designed as a large-size uncorded disposable earplug for industrial hearing conservation programs requiring documented fit testing and NRR 33 dB protection.
Earplugs should be fitted by a qualified safety officer or occupational health professional as part of a documented hearing conservation program. Roll the earplug into a thin cylinder, pull the outer ear up and back to straighten the ear canal, insert the earplug, and hold it in place until the foam fully expands. Note that research indicates many users receive less noise reduction than the labeled NRR due to variation in fit and technique; it is recommended to reduce the NRR by 50 percent when estimating typical workplace protection. Discard single-use earplugs after each shift or when visibly soiled.
