The 3M 7100000000 is a Cubitron 3 Cloth Belt 1184F engineered for demanding metalworking applications in both manual and automated environments. Built on a YF-weight polyester cloth backing with a resin bond and Film-lok splice, this belt measures 2 inches wide by 72 inches long and uses 3M precision shaped ceramic grain at 60 plus grit. The precision shaped grain geometry accelerates cut rate and extends abrasive life compared to conventional abrasives, while the single-flex construction and cool-cutting design reduce heat buildup to minimize metal discoloration. Sold in cases of 5 belts, it is suited for high-throughput production environments where consistent performance and reduced downtime are priorities.
This belt is designed for metalworking operations including grinding, finishing, deburring, polishing, surface preparation, and coating removal. Compatible equipment includes centerless grinders, roll grinders, backstands, pressure-assist backstands, benchtop grinders, rapid grinders, flat finishers, and robotic grinding systems. Sub-applications include weld grinding, parting line removal, blending, high-pressure grinding, chrome stripping, descaling, centerless and cylindrical grinding, and dimensioning. Industries served include general metalworking, castings and forging, with specific use in turbine engine components, medical instruments, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, builders hardware, and plating and polishing operations. The belt runs wet or dry, adding flexibility across different shop environments.
Designed for use on centerless grinders, roll grinders, backstands, pressure-assist backstands, benchtop grinders, rapid grinders, flat finishers, and robotic grinding systems in metalworking, castings, and forging applications.
Abrasive belt installation and replacement should be performed by qualified operators following equipment manufacturer guidelines and applicable ANSI safety standards for abrasive products. Power down and lockout the grinder or automated system completely before changing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension per machine specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the Film-lok splice for integrity before each use and do not exceed the maximum operating speed rated for the belt and machine combination.
