The 3M 7012818643 is a twin-leg self-retracting lifeline (SRL) built for 100% tie-off applications where traditional anchor points are limited or change frequently. Each leg features a Dyneema fiber and polyester web lifeline with a tie-back wear layer and a self-locking tie-back snap hook, allowing direct connection to approved structural elements without a dedicated anchor point. The compact, lightweight housing connects to most harnesses via a quick-connect single-pin connector, keeping the dorsal D-ring free for rescue or secondary gear. The speed-sensing brake system activates within inches of fall initiation to minimize fall distance. An external energy absorber and impact indicator support compliance documentation, and RFID enables streamlined inspection and asset tracking.
This twin-leg SRL is suited for elevated work environments where continuous tie-off is required and fixed anchor points are unavailable or variable. Typical applications include steel erection, maintenance platforms, and industrial construction zones. The swiveling anchorage loops support worker mobility across these work surfaces, and the tie-back design allows the lifeline legs to wrap around structural members directly. It is intended for use by qualified workers operating under a site-specific fall protection plan and is installed or inspected by competent persons as defined under applicable OSHA standards.
Designed for use with most full-body harnesses via a quick-connect single-pin dorsal connector. Intended for wrap-back and tie-back anchorage to approved structural elements in steel erection, maintenance platform, and industrial construction applications.
Installation and inspection must be performed by a competent person as defined under OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502 and applicable fall protection regulations. Power down or de-energize adjacent equipment and establish a fall protection plan before beginning work at elevation. Inspect the lifeline, snap hooks, energy absorber, and housing for damage or indicator deployment before each use. Never modify the device or connect it to unapproved anchor points.
