The 3M 7010536602 is an aluminum oxide spiral sanding band designed for use with pneumatic or electric drum sanders in deburring, blending, and surface finishing applications. Running at 180 grit in a very fine grade, this coated abrasive band delivers controlled material removal and a consistent finish on metal, wood, and composite surfaces. The cloth backing is rated X-weight, providing firm support and resistance to tearing under rotational load. It is sized at 0.5 inches in diameter by 1 inch wide, making it well suited for tight inside-diameter work such as tube ends, ports, and contoured bores. Trade professionals including machinists, pipefitters, and metal fabricators are the primary users.
This spiral band is appropriate for precision deburring and finishing tasks in both shop and field environments. The 0.5-inch diameter fits standard spiral band mandrels commonly used with die grinders and bench-mounted drum sander units. Applications include cleaning weld spatter from pipe interiors, smoothing bore edges, and blending surfaces prior to inspection or coating. The very fine 180 grit rating makes it suitable for finishing passes rather than aggressive stock removal. This product is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 100 units.
Designed as a replacement-style coated abrasive band for use with 0.5-inch spiral band mandrels on die grinders and drum sander machines.
Installation is performed by sliding the spiral band over a matching mandrel attached to a die grinder or rotary tool. Ensure the mandrel diameter matches the band diameter before seating the band. Power down and disconnect the tool from its air supply or electrical source before changing abrasive bands. Wear appropriate eye and hand protection during installation and operation per applicable shop safety standards.
