The 3M 7010516714 is a Cubitron II cloth abrasive belt designed for aggressive stock removal on stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys. The belt measures 3 inches wide by 90 inches long and carries a 36+ grit designation, placing it in the coarse-to-medium range for heavy material removal. It is built on a YF-weight polyester cloth backing, which provides the rigidity and durability required for medium to high pressure grinding applications. Fabricators, weld grinders, and robotic belt grinding systems are the primary users. The 36+ grit and precision-shaped grain technology make this belt well suited to production environments where cut rate and belt life directly affect output.
This belt is intended for use in industrial and fabrication settings where stainless steel and high-alloy metals are processed. The YF-weight polyester backing performs well in pressure-assisted and robotic grinding applications, where consistent belt tension and high contact pressure are maintained throughout the cut. It is also used in manual offhand grinding on carbon steel and nickel alloys. The engineered grain structure runs cooler than conventional abrasives, which helps control heat input on heat-sensitive alloys like stainless and cobalt chrome where discoloration, oxidation, and heat-related stress cracks are concerns.
Designed for use on stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys. Fits industrial belt grinders and robotic grinding systems that accept 3 inch x 90 inch abrasive belts.
Installation of abrasive belts should be performed by qualified personnel with the machine fully de-energized and locked out per applicable LOTO procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension before resuming operation. Always confirm the machine's maximum operating speed is compatible with the belt rating before use, and wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves during changeover.
