The 3M 7010399008 is a thin-wall heat shrink tubing designed for environmental protection and electrical insulation in wire and cable applications. Sold as individual 6-inch pieces, this tubing is part of the EPS-300 series, which provides a reliable barrier against moisture, abrasion, and contaminants. With a nominal diameter of 1/8 inch, it suits small-gauge wiring terminations, splices, and connector exits. Licensed electricians, HVAC technicians, and low-voltage installers use this tubing when a clean, durable insulating sleeve is required on conductors and connections exposed to harsh service conditions.
This heat shrink tubing fits residential and light commercial electrical and HVAC wiring tasks where a compact, thin-wall sleeve is appropriate. It is well suited for terminal insulation, wire bundle identification, strain relief, and moisture sealing on sensor leads, control wiring, and low-voltage circuits. Each piece measures 6 inches in length, allowing technicians to cut to length as needed for the specific connection being serviced.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use heat shrink sleeve for small-diameter wire and cable insulation applications in electrical, HVAC control, and low-voltage wiring systems.
Heat shrink tubing should be installed by a qualified electrician or HVAC technician following applicable NEC guidelines for the circuit being serviced. De-energize and lock out the circuit before applying the sleeve over any conductor or termination. Use a heat gun at the appropriate temperature setting, applying heat evenly along the length of the tubing to achieve a uniform, wrinkle-free shrink. Do not use an open flame to shrink the tubing, as this can damage the sleeve or adjacent components.
