The 3M 7010398877 is a flexible polyolefin heat shrink tubing designed to protect electronic components, insulate wire splices, and bundle wiring in a clean, durable sleeve. Each piece measures 6 inches in length with a 3/16 inch diameter and is finished in black. When heat is applied, the tubing shrinks to form a snug, protective layer around the substrate. Electricians and electronics technicians use this tubing for low-voltage wiring work, control panel wiring, and field repair of wire harnesses where a reliable, flexible insulating sleeve is required.
This tubing is suited for residential and light commercial electrical applications, including control wiring, sensor leads, and terminal protection. The EPS-200 series polyolefin construction provides flexibility after shrink, making it a practical choice in environments where vibration or repeated flexing is present. Designed as a general-purpose heat shrink sleeve for small-diameter wire splices, electronic component leads, and wire bundling applications where a 3/16 inch flexible polyolefin tubing is specified.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified technicians following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize all circuits before working on wire splices or control wiring. Slide the tubing onto the wire or component before making the splice or connection, then apply even heat from a heat gun using a slow, sweeping motion to shrink the tubing uniformly. Avoid open flame, as uncontrolled heat can damage the tubing or adjacent components.
