The 3M 7010398851 is a thin-wall heat shrink tubing sold as a 48-inch stick in the EPS-300 series. It provides environmental protection and electrical insulation for wire splices, terminations, and exposed conductors. With a 3/4-inch recovered diameter and clear jacket, this tubing suits applications where visual inspection of the connection is useful after installation. Licensed electricians and low-voltage technicians are the primary installers. The EPS-300 construction is designed to meet the protection demands of industrial, commercial, and panel wiring environments where a clean, durable sleeve is required.
This heat shrink tubing is used in electrical and electronic wiring assemblies where moisture resistance and insulation integrity are priorities. The 48-inch stick length allows technicians to cut custom lengths on the job, reducing waste. Typical applications include wire bundling, terminal insulation, and harness protection in control panels, junction boxes, and service equipment. The clear finish makes it straightforward to verify conductor identification or splice quality without removing the sleeve.
Designed as an OEM-style heat shrink sleeve for use on 3/4-inch nominal diameter wire splices, terminals, and conductors in electrical wiring assemblies.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified low-voltage technicians following applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits before applying heat shrink tubing to any conductor or splice. Use a calibrated heat gun set to the appropriate temperature range for the EPS-300 material; open flame tools are not recommended for thin-wall tubing. Slide the tubing over the conductor or splice before making the final termination when possible, as retroactive installation over completed splices may not be feasible.
