The 3M 7010398370 is the Scotch Super 33+ Vinyl Electrical Tape, a 7 mil thick, premium-grade PVC electrical tape rated for use on wires and cables up to 600 volts. The flame-retardant backing pairs with a pressure-sensitive rubber resin adhesive to deliver both electrical insulation and mechanical protection in a single wrap. The tape handles a temperature range of 0 to 221 degrees F, making it suitable for demanding service environments indoors and out. Electricians and cable splicers reach for this tape on jobs where UV exposure, moisture, abrasion, or chemical contact are concerns. Each roll measures 3/4 inch wide by 66 feet long with a 1.5 inch core and weighs approximately 0.248 pounds.
Scotch Super 33+ is engineered for above-grade and below-grade installations, low-voltage and high-voltage applications, and cable harnessing work. It is compatible with solid dielectric cable insulation, synthetic cable insulations, jackets, rubber splicing compounds, and synthetic splicing compounds. Common use cases include providing a protective jacket over high-voltage cable splices and insulating wire terminations in conduit, junction boxes, and panel enclosures across residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems.
Compatible with solid dielectric cable insulation, synthetic cable insulations, jackets, rubber splicing compounds, and synthetic splicing compounds. Suitable for low-voltage and high-voltage electrical wiring applications in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
This tape is installed by licensed electricians and qualified electrical workers in accordance with NEC requirements for insulation and splicing. De-energize and lock out all circuits before applying tape to any conductor or splice. Stretch the tape slightly during application for a secure, conforming wrap, and overlap each layer by at least half the tape width to maintain rated insulation integrity. Do not apply to energized conductors or use as a substitute for listed wire connectors where connectors are required by code.
