The 3M 7010396792 is a medium-wall, flame-retardant heat shrink cable sleeve designed for electrical cable protection in demanding environments. Constructed from cross-linked polyolefin, it resists splitting, abrasion, corrosion, and chemical exposure. Each sleeve measures 48 inches in length and is sized for 2-2/0 AWG conductors. A factory-applied thermoplastic adhesive sealant lines the interior, softening during heat application to bond tightly to the underlying surface and fill small voids. The result is a moisture-resistant, mechanically protective seal suitable for wire terminations and splices. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this product.
This cable sleeve is used in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations where cables require reliable environmental and mechanical protection. The medium-wall construction offers greater flexibility than heavy-wall alternatives, making it well suited for installations involving tight routing or frequent movement. The red color aids in visual identification of conductors or circuit groupings. Sleeves are unprinted and ship in a standard case quantity of 20 pieces per case at 48 inches per sleeve.
Designed as an OEM-style heat shrink sleeve for use on 2-2/0 AWG electrical cables requiring medium-wall environmental and mechanical protection. Order by expanded inside diameter to confirm fitment with the target conductor or bundle.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician following applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before applying the sleeve. Use a calibrated heat gun moving evenly along the sleeve to activate shrink and flow the adhesive sealant without scorching the material. Do not use an open flame for heat application, as uneven heat can damage the sleeve or compromise the seal.
