The 3M 7010396790 is a heavy-wall, flame-retardant heat shrinkable cable sleeve designed to protect electrical splices, connections, and terminations in demanding wiring applications. Constructed from cross-linked polyolefin with a factory-applied internal adhesive and sealant, this sleeve delivers mechanical protection, environmental sealing, and split resistance in a single component. At 48 inches in length, it is fast-shrinking by design, reducing installation time in the field. This sleeve meets MIL-DTL-23053/15, Class 1 specifications and is installed by licensed electricians and experienced electrical technicians working on medium- to high-voltage cable assemblies and terminations.
This cable sleeve is suited for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work where reliable insulation and environmental protection are required at splice points and terminations. The red color aids in visual identification during installation and inspection. Each sleeve ships as an individual 48-inch section. Typical applications include cable harness protection, underground splice sealing, and panel termination work where a durable, code-compliant insulating sleeve is required.
Designed as an OEM-style heavy-wall heat shrink sleeve for electrical splice, connection, and termination protection applications. Order in the size equivalent to the expanded inside diameter required for your cable assembly.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize and lock out all circuits before applying this sleeve to any splice or termination. Use a calibrated heat gun to apply uniform heat and achieve full shrink and adhesive flow — open flame tools are not recommended. Confirm full adhesive seal around the splice before returning the circuit to service.
