The 3M 7010396625 is a modified polychloroprene heat shrink tubing designed for applications that demand a tough, highly flexible protective covering. Sold as a 100-foot spool in black, the NST-series tubing delivers superior cut-through and abrasion resistance while remaining unaffected by common fluids and solvents. Oil resistance is excellent. The tubing retains flexibility at low temperatures and accepts hot-stamp and print-wheel marking methods. When exposed to heat above 135 degrees C (275 degrees F), it shrinks rapidly to a skintight fit, providing a secure, protective sleeve over wiring harnesses, cables, terminals, and mechanical components.
This tubing is suited for electrical, automotive, industrial, and general wiring applications where durability and flexibility across a wide temperature range are required. It is appropriate for residential and commercial installations where cable and wire protection is needed against abrasion, fluid exposure, and environmental stress. The tubing is rated for continuous operation from -70 degrees C (-94 degrees F) to 121 degrees C (250 degrees F), making it viable in both extreme cold and elevated heat environments. Licensed electricians, industrial maintenance technicians, and wiring harness fabricators are the typical installers.
Designed as an OEM-style protective tubing solution for wiring, cable, and component bundling applications requiring flexible, heat-shrinkable modified polychloroprene sleeving in a 7/8 inch nominal diameter.
Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians or trained wiring technicians. De-energize all circuits before applying heat shrink tubing to any live wiring or terminal. Use an appropriate heat gun calibrated to deliver uniform heat above 135 degrees C (275 degrees F) to achieve proper shrink and conform to the substrate. Follow applicable NEC guidelines for insulation and wire protection requirements in the installation environment.
