The 3M 7010383920 is a clear reclosable fastener tape from the Dual Lock SJ3562 series, designed for tool-free mechanical attachment in demanding trade and industrial applications. The fastener features a clear polypropylene mushroom-stem construction with 170 stems per square inch and an engaged thickness of 0.23 inches. A clear acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive on the backing allows direct bonding to prepared surfaces without fasteners or hardware. The roll measures 1 inch wide by 50 yards long. Rated for use up to 220 degrees F, this fastener performs reliably in both indoor and outdoor environments. Installation requires only surface cleaning and firm hand pressure.
SJ3562 is suited for attaching panels, covers, signs, and equipment components to metal and high-surface-energy plastic substrates in HVAC, electrical, and general trade service environments. Compatible substrates include aluminum, stainless steel, glass, acrylic, polycarbonate, and ABS plastics. The reclosable design supports repeated service access, making it practical for equipment enclosures, access panels, and instrumentation mounting where periodic removal is required. It is sold by the roll and is appropriate for both shop fabrication and field installation.
Designed for bonding to metals including aluminum and stainless steel, glass, and high-surface-energy plastics including acrylic, polycarbonate, and ABS. Not recommended for low-surface-energy plastics such as polyethylene or polypropylene substrates without a primer.
Clean and dry the mating surface thoroughly before applying the adhesive-backed fastener; oils, dust, and moisture will reduce bond strength. Apply firm, even pressure along the full length of the tape after placement. Allow adequate dwell time at room temperature before applying full service load. No tools are required for application, but surface preparation with isopropyl alcohol is standard practice before bonding pressure-sensitive adhesives to metal or plastic.
