The 3M 7010375681 is a pressure-sensitive aluminum foil tape designed for sealing and joining fibrous ductboard, sheet metal ducts, and related HVAC assemblies. The construction combines a nominal 1.8 mil aluminum foil backing with a cold-weather acrylic adhesive rated for bonding at temperatures as low as -10 degrees F. Total tape thickness is 3.3 mil. The foil is flexible enough to conform to curved and irregular surfaces without cracking or lifting, making it a reliable choice for duct sealing, heat shielding, and light-reflecting applications in the field. HVAC technicians and sheet metal workers are the primary installers, and the tape is hand-tearable, requiring no special tools or dispensing equipment on the job site.
This tape is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC applications where a durable foil seal is required on fibrous ductboard or sheet metal duct systems. The low-temperature adhesive makes it appropriate for installations in unconditioned spaces such as attics, crawlspaces, and mechanical rooms where ambient temperatures can drop significantly. Each roll measures 2.83 inches wide by 49.21 yards long. The easy-release liner allows for clean, controlled application during installation. General-purpose heat shielding and light-reflecting tasks are also within its range of use.
Designed for use on fibrous ductboard and sheet metal duct systems in residential and light commercial HVAC installations. Also suitable for general heat shielding and light-reflecting applications where a pressure-sensitive aluminum foil tape is specified.
HVAC technicians and sheet metal workers typically install this tape as part of duct sealing or insulation work. Clean and dry all surfaces before application to ensure proper adhesion. In cold-weather installs, confirm ambient temperature is within the adhesive rating before applying. No special tools are required; the foil is hand-tearable for field convenience.
