The 3M 7010374693 is a high-temperature polyester tape designed for powder coat paint masking and splicing silicone-treated materials. At 2.6 mil thick, it combines a tough, non-slivering polyester backing with a clean-removing silicone adhesive that releases without leaving residue after high-temperature cycles. The result is a tape that holds securely during curing processes and strips cleanly when the job is done. HVAC fabricators, industrial painters, and finishing contractors are the primary users. Each roll measures 2 inches wide by 72 yards long and ships as a single roll.
This tape is well suited for powder coating operations where masking must survive oven temperatures without adhesive bleed or backing failure. It also performs in splicing applications involving silicone-treated release liners, films, and coated materials where standard acrylic tapes will not adhere reliably. The clean-removing silicone adhesive makes it a practical choice wherever residue-free removal is required after thermal exposure.
Designed for use in powder coat paint masking and splicing of silicone-treated materials in industrial and finishing environments.
Apply to clean, dry surfaces free of oils and dust before masking or splicing. Press the tape firmly along its full length to ensure consistent adhesion and prevent bleed under the edge. After the process cycle is complete, remove the tape while the substrate is still warm if possible to aid clean release. No special tools are required, but handling gloves are recommended when working near hot parts or ovens.
