The 3M 7010374435 is a dead soft aluminum foil vibration damping tape designed to absorb and dissipate mechanical vibration while reducing structure-borne noise. The constraining layer is coated with a pressure-sensitive viscoelastic acrylic polymer adhesive that converts vibrational energy into negligible heat, which then dissipates through the foil. A blue polyethylene easy-release liner supports clean handling and die-cutting operations in fabrication environments. This tape performs at extremely low temperatures down to -76 degrees F, making it suitable for refrigeration, cold-storage construction, and aerospace applications. It resists weather exposure and UV degradation. Installers working in HVAC, appliance, industrial, and aerospace MRO applications will find it applicable to a broad range of panel and duct damping tasks.
This tape is used wherever vibration transmission and noise generation need to be reduced at the surface level. Common applications include duct panels, appliance cabinets, automotive body panels, aerospace interior structures, and general industrial equipment subject to recurring vibration. The linered construction allows the tape to be die-cut into custom shapes for production line use, making it well suited to both field service and manufacturing environments. Minimum purchase quantity is 4 rolls per order.
Designed for vibration damping and noise reduction applications across aerospace, automotive, appliance, construction, and MRO industries where a conformable foil tape with a pressure-sensitive viscoelastic adhesive is required.
Surface should be clean, dry, and free of oils or loose particles before application. Apply firm hand pressure across the full tape surface to ensure full adhesive contact. In fabrication settings, the liner construction supports die-cutting with standard tooling. For low-temperature installations, confirm ambient conditions are within the tape operating range before application.
