The 3M 7010373824 is a gray, double-sided, closed-cell acrylic foam tape sold under the VHB Tape 4941 product line. At 45 mil thick, it delivers a conformable, pressure-sensitive bond on high and medium surface energy substrates. The foam core provides cushioning, vibration damping, and impact resistance alongside the adhesive bond. A paper liner protects the adhesive during handling and positioning. The tape is plasticizer resistant, making it suitable for use near PVC and other plasticizer-emitting materials. It carries a UL listing under UL 746C. Each roll measures 0.875 inches wide by 36 yards long and weighs 1.62 pounds.
VHB Tape 4941 is used in industrial and construction assembly applications where mechanical fasteners are impractical or where a flexible, load-distributing bond is required. Typical applications include panel attachment, sign assembly, metal-to-metal bonding, and mounting on powder-coated or painted surfaces. The closed-cell foam construction accommodates minor surface irregularities and thermal expansion differences between dissimilar materials. The tape is appropriate for both interior and exterior use where surface energy and cleanliness requirements can be controlled prior to application.
Designed for bonding high and medium surface energy substrates including metals, glass, and many plastics where surface preparation and cleanliness requirements are met prior to tape application.
Surface preparation is critical for full adhesive performance — clean and dry all bonding surfaces before application. Apply firm, even pressure across the tape to ensure full contact with both substrates. Avoid stretching the tape during application, as this can reduce long-term bond strength. This product should be applied by personnel familiar with pressure-sensitive tape bonding procedures and the substrate requirements of the assembly.
