The 3M 7010373795 is a 5 mil double coated tape built on a 1.0 mil clear polyester (PET) carrier film with a high-performance acrylic adhesive on both sides. The adhesive system is engineered to bond aggressively to low surface energy (LSE) substrates, powder-coated surfaces, and other difficult-to-adhere materials where standard tapes fail. A 58-pound, 4.5 mil unprinted polycoated kraft paper liner protects the second adhesive face during handling and die cutting. Short-term heat resistance reaches 350 degrees F, making this tape suitable for assemblies that see elevated operating temperatures. The roll measures 24 inches wide by 36 yards long and is sold as a single roll.
This tape is used in industrial and manufacturing assembly applications where a transparent, dimensionally stable double-sided bond is required. Typical use cases include laminating films, mounting flexible components, fabricating nameplates, and die-cutting operations where clean edge quality matters. The 58-pound kraft liner is specifically chosen to reduce edge burr during hard-tool die cutting, which makes this tape well suited for converter and fabrication environments. It is also applicable in HVAC panel assembly and electrical enclosure manufacturing where bonding to powder-coated or plastic surfaces is common.
Designed for bonding to low surface energy plastics, powder-coated metals, and other difficult surfaces common in industrial assembly and fabrication applications.
Surface preparation is critical before applying double coated tape — clean bonding surfaces with an appropriate solvent to remove oils, dust, and contaminants. Apply firm, even pressure across the bond area after positioning to achieve full adhesive contact. When die cutting, use sharp tooling and allow the kraft liner to do its job minimizing edge burr. Consult applicable industry or facility standards for adhesive bonding in structural or load-bearing assemblies.
