The 3M 7010373729 is an acrylic adhesive transfer tape designed for bonding high and low surface energy materials in demanding industrial and assembly applications. Built on 3M High Performance Acrylic Adhesive 350, the tape measures 5.0 mils thick and is mounted on a tan, 58 lb. polycoated kraft (PCK) paper liner that resists moisture and minimizes liner wrinkle during application. The fiber-reinforced adhesive maintains roll stability in narrow widths and resists ooze. Short-term temperature resistance reaches 450 degrees F, with long-term service rated to 300 degrees F. Licensed tradespeople and assembly technicians in manufacturing, HVAC panel fabrication, and related trades install this tape.
This transfer tape is suited for bonding dissimilar materials, including those with rougher or powder-coated surfaces. It performs well in environments where chemical resistance and sustained shear and peel strength are required, including elevated-temperature conditions. Typical applications include attaching nameplates, gaskets, and thin film materials to metal or plastic substrates where a clean, liner-backed adhesive transfer is preferred over liquid adhesives or mechanical fasteners.
Designed for bonding high and low surface energy materials, including powder-coated metals, plastics, and substrates with moderately rough surfaces. Suitable for use wherever 3M High Performance Acrylic Adhesive 350 chemistry is specified.
Surface preparation is critical — clean and dry all substrates before application to ensure full adhesive contact. Apply firm, even pressure across the tape width after placement to achieve proper bond formation. No special tools are required, but a roller or squeegee is recommended for uniform pressure. Remove the PCK liner carefully to avoid stretching or folding the adhesive film before it contacts the substrate.
