The 3M 7010373143 is a gray, double-sided, closed-cell acrylic foam tape sold under the VHB Tape 4941 product line. At 45 mil thick, this conformable pressure-sensitive tape is designed for structural and semi-structural bonding applications where mechanical fasteners are impractical or undesirable. It features a paper liner for handling convenience and bonds high and medium surface energy substrates including metals, glass, and many plastics. The closed-cell foam core provides cushioning, vibration damping, and impact resistance in the bonded assembly. It also carries UL listing 746C and is formulated to resist plasticizer migration from PVC and similar materials.
VHB Tape 4941 is used across a range of industrial, construction, and trade applications. Common install scenarios include mounting panels, attaching trim and nameplates, bonding dissimilar materials, and sealing or reinforcing joints where the tape replaces rivets, screws, or liquid adhesives. The 1.5-inch width and 36-yard roll length make it well-suited for continuous runs on HVAC enclosures, electrical panels, sign assemblies, and architectural cladding. It performs reliably in both indoor and outdoor environments where resistance to weathering and plasticizer exposure is required.
Designed for bonding high and medium surface energy substrates including metals, glass, and compatible plastics. Suitable for use in HVAC, electrical, construction panel, and general industrial assembly applications where a conformable double-sided foam tape is specified.
Surface preparation is critical for full adhesive performance — clean bonding surfaces thoroughly to remove dust, oil, and loose material before application. Apply firm, uniform pressure across the tape length to ensure full contact between adhesive and substrate. Allow dwell time for the bond to develop before applying load or stress to the assembly. No special tools are required, but installers working on electrical enclosures should de-energize equipment before performing any tape bonding work near live components.
