The 3M 7010368540 is a non-woven nylon abrasive disc designed for light deburring, surface cleaning, and final finishing on metal workpieces. Built on a high-strength open-web construction, it maintains stiffness under pressure without folding, tearing, or fraying, making it reliable for edgework and irregular surface profiles. The disc uses Aluminum Oxide mineral for sharp, consistent cutting action that produces a uniform scratch pattern across ferrous and non-ferrous metals. At 8 inches in diameter with a 1-inch arbor hole, it mounts to standard bench grinders and angle grinders used in fabrication and finishing shops.
This disc is suited for metal finishing applications in fabrication, welding prep, and surface conditioning work. The open-web structure resists loading, preventing debris buildup that shortens abrasive life. It performs well on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals where a smear-free, consistent finish is required without aggressive stock removal. The disc is part of the Buff and Blend HS product line, which is available in three grades: Coarse (green), Medium (blue), and Very Fine (maroon), allowing the technician to match aggressiveness to the application.
Designed for use on standard grinders and finishing machines accepting an 8-inch disc with a 1-inch arbor hole. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metal substrates in light deburring and surface finishing applications.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by a qualified operator with the grinder or finishing machine powered down and unplugged. Verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the rated maximum speed of the disc before operation. Inspect the disc for damage before mounting and ensure the arbor hardware is properly torqued per the machine manufacturer's guidelines. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required during use.
