The 3M 7010368524 is a Buff and Blend AP non-woven abrasive disc built for medium-duty surface conditioning work on metal substrates. The open web construction uses aluminum oxide mineral that fractures during use, continuously exposing fresh cutting edges for a consistent scratch pattern across the entire service life of the disc. At 8 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch arbor bore and a maximum speed rating of 2700 RPM, this disc fits standard right-angle grinders and bench-mounted disc tools commonly used in fabrication and maintenance shops. It is well suited for tasks where controlled material removal and preserved part geometry matter most.
This disc is intended for medium-duty cleaning, edge deburring, and antique finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals including ferrous alloys. The open web design resists loading, making it a practical choice for extended runs on surfaces that generate swarf or fine metallic debris. A lubricant can be applied during use to further reduce swarf accumulation and minimize smearing on the substrate. It is available in very fine grade (VFN, red) and medium grade (MED, tan) to match the surface finish requirement of the application.
Designed for use on a variety of metals including ferrous alloys; fits tools accepting an 8 inch disc with a 1/2 inch arbor bore at speeds up to 2700 RPM.
This disc is installed and operated by machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians working with angle grinders or bench disc tools. Before mounting, confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 2700 RPM maximum rating marked on the disc. Ensure the arbor nut is properly secured and the tool guard is in place before operating. Inspect the disc for tears or damage before each use and replace immediately if the web shows signs of degradation.
