The 3M 7010368523 Buff and Blend AP Disc is an open-web, non-woven abrasive disc engineered for medium-duty surface conditioning on metal. The disc runs at up to 3600 RPM and accepts a 1/4-inch arbor. It uses aluminum oxide mineral, which is friable by design so it fractures during use to expose fresh cutting edges, maintaining a consistent scratch pattern throughout the life of the disc. The flexible open-web construction conforms to part geometry without gouging the substrate, making it suitable for deburring, cleaning, and antique or brushed finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous alloys.
This disc is well suited for fabrication shops, maintenance operations, and metal finishing work where controlled surface conditioning is required. It handles edge deburring, light scale removal, and decorative antique finishing across a range of metal types. The open web resists loading, so the disc stays effective longer even when working materials that tend to smear or clog conventional abrasives. It can be run dry or with a compatible lubricant to manage swarf and reduce smearing on softer substrates.
Designed for use on ferrous alloys and a variety of metals; accepts a 1/4-inch arbor and is compatible with standard 6-inch disc pads and angle grinder backing pads rated for non-woven abrasive discs at up to 3600 RPM.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by a qualified operator with the grinder fully powered down and unplugged. Verify that the backing pad or arbor mount is rated for non-woven abrasive discs and does not exceed the 3600 RPM maximum speed rating of this disc. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not use a disc that is torn or deformed. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable shop safety and OSHA guidelines when operating abrasive power tools.
