The 3M 7010368291 is a non-woven surface conditioning belt designed for one-step workpiece preparation ahead of final finishes and coatings. Built on FE material with an aluminum oxide abrasive, it delivers high initial cut rate and extended cut rate under high contact pressure. The open web construction responds to surface irregularities, reducing the risk of gouging the workpiece. Measuring 24 inches in length and 1/2 inch in width, this belt suits narrow belt grinders and file belt tools used in metalworking shops and fabrication environments. Licensed tradespeople and skilled metalworkers install and operate this consumable.
This belt is engineered for edgework, deburring, and blending on ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high nickel and chrome alloys. The FE backing material performs at its best when high contact pressure and meaningful stock removal are required. Non-woven construction provides flexibility, heat resistance, and a consistent cut rate throughout the belt's service life. The low-stretch characteristic makes it reliable on machines where belt stability is critical to finish quality.
Designed for use on narrow belt grinders and file belt machines that accept a 24-inch by 1/2-inch non-woven abrasive belt. Best suited to ferrous metal, stainless steel, and high nickel and chrome alloy workpieces requiring deburring, blending, or surface conditioning prior to coating or final finishing.
Belt installation and replacement should be performed by qualified metalworking personnel following the machine manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the machine before removing or mounting the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension before resuming operation. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves during installation and use.
