The 3M 7010367142 is a non-woven surface conditioning belt designed for one-step prep work on metal workpieces prior to final finishes and coatings. Built on an FE scrim backing with Aluminum Oxide abrasive, this belt delivers high initial cut rates and sustained stock removal under high contact pressure. At 36 inches long and 4 inches wide, it is sized for standard belt finishing machines used in fabrication and metalworking shops. Licensed HVAC fabricators, welders, and metal finishing technicians install and use this belt as part of routine surface prep operations.
This belt is engineered for ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high nickel and chrome alloys. Its primary applications are deburring, blending, and edgework on flat workpieces and profiled edges. The open web construction allows the belt to conform to surface irregularities, reducing the risk of gouging on finished or semi-finished parts. It is well suited to low-stretch applications where consistent cut rate and long service life are required across repeated passes.
Designed for use on standard belt finishing and surface conditioning machines that accept 36 inch x 4 inch abrasive belts. Suitable for use on ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high nickel and chrome alloy workpieces requiring deburring, blending, or edge conditioning.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the machine manufacturer's guidelines. Ensure the finishing machine is fully powered down and de-energized before changing belts. Confirm belt tracking and tension settings before resuming operation. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when handling abrasive belts.
