The 3M 7010367140 is a non-woven surface conditioning FE belt designed for one-step workpiece preparation ahead of final finishes and coatings. Built on an FE scrim backing with aluminum oxide abrasive, it delivers high initial cut rate and extended cut rate performance under high contact pressure. The open web construction responds to surface irregularities and minimizes gouging, making it well suited for both flat work and edge work. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators in metal finishing, weld blending, and surface prep operations rely on this belt for consistent, repeatable results across a production run.
This belt is intended for deburring, blending, and edge finishing on ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high nickel and chrome alloys. The non-woven construction gives the belt long service life, flexibility, and heat resistance, keeping the cut rate consistent from the start of the belt through to the end. It is most effective in applications where high contact pressure and stock removal are required, and it is also suitable for low-stretch applications where belt dimensional stability matters.
Designed for use on ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high nickel and chrome alloys in surface conditioning, deburring, and blending applications on compatible belt-driven finishing tools that accept an 18-inch by 1-inch belt.
Belt installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified operator with the tool powered down and unplugged or locked out per applicable LOTO procedures. Verify the tool's rated belt size matches the 18-inch by 1-inch dimensions before mounting. Inspect the belt and tool contact wheel or platen for wear before each use, and do not operate the belt beyond its rated speed.
