The 3M 7010366873 is a nonwoven surface conditioning belt designed for detail finishing work on metal surfaces. Built with a silicon carbide abrasive mineral and a reinforced scrim backing, it handles a wide range of surface preparation tasks including blending, deburring, contour finishing, and attaining straightline-brushed finishes. The open web nonwoven construction resists loading and reduces heat build-up, which extends working life and keeps surface conditioning results consistent across a job. At 98 inches long and 6 inches wide, this belt fits wide-belt and large-format finishing machines used in metal fabrication and production environments.
This belt is suited for metalworking applications in both shop and production settings. It performs effectively on stainless steel, carbon steel, and other metals where blending grind lines, removing mill marks, setting a grain pattern, or cleaning and deburring edges are required. The conformable nonwoven structure allows the abrasive to maintain contact with complex-shaped parts, making it a practical choice for automated or robotic finishing systems as well as manual belt finishing equipment.
Designed for use on wide-belt finishing machines and large-format belt grinders that accept a 98-inch by 6-inch belt. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metal substrates in fabrication, production, and automated finishing applications.
Install and change abrasive belts only with the machine fully powered down and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the machine manufacturer specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or delamination prior to each use and do not exceed the maximum operating speed rated for the belt.
