The 3M 7010366427 is a finishing flap brush designed for light-duty cleaning and surface finishing applications. Individual abrasive sheets are adhered at a 90-degree angle to the core, creating a flap-style action that contacts the workpiece with consistent, controlled pressure. The brush carries a hard 7A density rating, which delivers extended service life while limiting conformability — making it suitable for flat or low-contour surfaces where aggressive sheet wrap-around is not desired. The abrasive mineral is aluminum oxide in a very fine (VFN) grade, appropriate for light stock removal, surface prep, and finish-refining work. Weighing 2.66 pounds, the brush measures 8 inches in diameter, 4 inches in face width, and accepts a 3-inch arbor bore.
This flap brush is suited for use in light industrial, fabrication, and maintenance environments where surface conditioning or final finishing is required. Typical applications include cleaning mill scale, blending weld areas, deburring edges, and preparing metal surfaces prior to coating or inspection. The very fine aluminum oxide construction makes it appropriate for finishing passes rather than aggressive material removal. It is installed on stationary or portable grinders and finishing equipment used by machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians working with ferrous and non-ferrous metal substrates.
Designed for use on stationary or portable grinders and finishing machines equipped with a 3-inch arbor. Suitable for light-duty finishing operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive wheel and brush mounting procedures. Confirm the spindle speed rating of the equipment does not exceed the rated RPM of the brush before mounting. Power down and lock out the grinder or finishing machine before installing or removing the brush. Follow ANSI B7.1 guidelines for abrasive product mounting, including proper flange use and guard positioning.
